Jim Hoak is currently Chairman and CEO of Hoak Media Corporation, and is one of the premier media entrepreneurs in the country. In 1971, Jim co-founded and served as CEO of Heritage Communications, Inc., a media company with interests in cable television, television, radio, outdoor advertising and other media businesses. Subsequent to the sale of HCI to Tele-Communications, Inc. for $1.5 billion in 1987, Jim co-founded another media company, Heritage Media Corporation, serving as Chairman and overseeing the purchase of radio and television properties of Heritage Communications, Inc. Heritage Media was sold to New Corporation for $1.4 billion in 1997. Jim serves as a director of PanAmSat Corporation (NASDAQ: SPOT), Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (NYSE: PIR), Texas Industries, Inc. (NYSE: TXI) and Grande Communications, Inc.
